Annual General Meeting
By-Law 40 (2) requires that a member may be elected to serve on the Board and Committees only if he/she is:
1. 18 years or over;
2. a citizen or resident of Barbados;
3. has been a member for at least one year; and
4. is in good financial standing.
Please note that in accordance with directives received, nominations will no longer be permitted from the floor of General Meetings. The provisions of the Co-operative Societies Act (Sections 52 and 53), the Co-operative Societies Regulation No. 13 and directives of the Financial Services Commission (FSC) require that any member who is nominated must confirm acceptance of the nomination and attain the ‘Fit and Proper’ conditions for election.
The fit and proper conditions necessitate the following:
1. A completed FSC Individual Questionnaire
2. A Certificate of Character from the Royal Barbados Police Force
3. A certified copy of the passport picture page
4. A résumé
Members wishing to nominate a member for election to the Board of Directors, Supervisory Committee, or Credit Committee, are asked to complete and submit a Nomination Form, proposed by two members in good standing. All Nominations must be accompanied by the documents noted above and must be submitted not later than 18-Sep-2020. If there is a postponement of the Annual General Meeting, the deadline will be extended, and members will be informed. Electronic submission of documents will be accepted and all necessary means will be used to verify documents received; please submit to email@example.com.
