Terms and Conditions
Introduction
- This Online Services Agreement ("
this Agreement
") governs your ("
the undersigned
") access to the services. It replaces any prior agreements between you (
the undersigned
), and the Lifetime Co-operative Credit Union Ltd. ("
the Credit Union
") regarding Online Services but does not replace or change any agreements governing your member accounts (shares, deposits, loans, lines-of-credit). If any situation arises where there is a conflict between this agreement and your account agreement, the account agreement will prevail to the extent of the conflict.
This agreement shall become binding immediately after you sign it

Definitions in this agreement:
"
You
", "
You the undersigned
" and "
your
" mean the member or members enrolled for the services; and "
the Credit Union
", "
Lifetime
" and "
its
" mean Lifetime Co-operative Credit Union Ltd.
"
Account
" means any account to which you have access through our online services.
"
Default
Password
" means the one-time code that will be provided to you and which you will use to access the services.
"
Password
" means any confidential combination of numbers and/or letters that you the undersigned select from time to time as a means of identification and to enable access to the Services.
"
Business Day
" means Monday thru Friday. Public Holidays are not included.
"
Electronic Device
" means any device including, but not limited to, the computer, mobile phone or tablet used by you to access the Online Services.
"
Communication Centre
" means Lifetime?s online message centre located on its Website where you access the services and where encrypted emails and other communications or information relating to the services may be transmitted between you and the Credit Union.
"
Challenge Questions
" means the questions and answers that you choose that are used for verification purposes.
"
Service
" or "
services
" mean the various features you can access through our Online Services.
Registration
- You agree to provide true and correct information when registering for the Online Services.
Access Limitations
- Access is limited to eligible accounts with the Credit Union. Joint account holders must complete a Joint Online Services form. Joint "AND" accounts that require the signatures of all joint holders shall have viewing access
ONLY
.
Notice
- Any notice or information that Lifetime is required to provide may be communicated through: (a) general announcements to all members through its website; (b) the Communications Centre located in the Online Services Website or; (c) an email address provided by you the undersigned and appearing on our records.
Use
- You, the undersigned, will access the Online Services through an assigned User Identification (ID)
and
a confidential password created by you. Any transactions processed through the Online Services are therefore attributed to you and have the same legal effect as if you had given the Credit Union instructions by letter. The Credit Union will therefore be under no obligation to reverse them.
Prohibitions on use
- You will not:
access or use the Online Services for illegal or fraudulent purposes; or
take any steps or actions that could or would undermine the security, integrity, effectiveness or connectivity of the Online Services.
Services
- The Online Services may be used to check balances and available amounts, transfer funds within your accounts, view transaction history up to 512 days, download statements in the format available on the site and to request a withdrawal cheque from your account.
Setting limits
- Lifetime may set limits from time to time (dollar values, frequencies or otherwise) for the Online Services and may change these limits periodically.
Security
You must always keep your password strictly confidential. If you know or suspect that an unauthorized person knows your password, you must change your password immediately.
The password and Challenge Questions you select must be confidential and not easily guessed by others.
You acknowledge that ensuring the security of your information requires that you exercise safe computing practices. Therefore, you must sign out completely after every session in which you have accessed the Online Services. This is to prevent unauthorized persons from accessing the services without your permission or knowledge.
If you fail to enter your password correctly after four (4) consecutive attempts your access to the service will be locked and you must contact the Credit Union.
You agree to notify the Credit Union immediately if your password has been compromised or you notice any security breach.
You agree to implement and maintain safe computing practices, including:
An internet browser with at least 18-bit encryption technology;
Up-to-date virus protection software; and
Only accessing the services via devices and networks that are properly protected by firewalls.
Privacy
Our Credit Union's Online Services system is a private system operated for the exclusive use of its members. We use SSL encryption and digital server authentication to ensure the privacy of your information when sending data between our Online Services server and your computer or devices. All Online Services logins are logged by the server. For authenticated members who use our Online Services, we collect and store certain information such as how often you use our Online Services, dates and times of visits and which services are being used. This information is used for internal review and product evaluation only. We will not sell, transfer or trade this information unless we are compelled to do so by law. We may gather and store additional information on failed login attempts and other activity we consider a threat to the integrity of our system. In such cases, we will share this information with other companies, agencies and law enforcement officials as we deem necessary or as required by law.
Liabilities, Releases/Indemnities
Liabilities
- The Credit Union will not be responsible for any loss, damage, delay or inconvenience suffered or incurred by you with respect to:
Your accessing the Online Services (including but not limited to any delay or inability to access the services) except in a case where there has been gross negligence by the Credit Union.
Your failure to fulfill any of the obligations under this agreement including those under section 9 - Security.
Releases/Indemnities
- Except for claims, costs and liabilities arising from our negligence, you will release and indemnify the Credit Union against any claim, cost and liability incurred by you the undersigned, in connection with (i) your access to the Online Services; or (ii) any breach by you of the terms of this Agreement including, but not limited to, clause 4 (prohibitions on use).
Changes
- The Credit Union reserves the right to change the terms and conditions of the Online Services Agreement. You will be notified in advance electronically or otherwise of these changes.
You may terminate this service if you do not agree with the changes made to the agreement. However, if you continue to use this service after the effective date of those changes, it will be deemed that you have accepted the changes.
Suspension/Termination
By the Credit Union:
The Credit Union may suspend or terminate (in whole or in part) this Agreement or your access to any of the Online Services immediately for any reason whatsoever at any time without prior notice. Lifetime will not be responsible for any loss or inconvenience that may result from such suspension or termination.
By you:
You may suspend or terminate this Agreement at any time by giving the Credit Union notice of termination and such termination will be effective one business day following Lifetime?s receipt of such notice in writing.
Scope of the Agreement
This agreement does not affect any other agreements for savings, loans, other products or services that may be in effect on eligible accounts.
This agreement is governed by the Laws of Barbados, the Electronic Transactions Act 2001 of Barbados, the Co-operative Societies Act & Regulations, and the By-Laws and Policies of Lifetime Co-operative Credit Union Ltd.
